Access to healthcare in Malawi remains limited, particularly for low-income communities. Providing free medical care and supporting access to health services is a key part of YORGHAS Foundation’s work in Africa.

From November 4–14, 2024, YORGHAS Foundation hosted the Polish Medical Mission Emergency Team in Lilongwe, Malawi. Over two weeks, four medical professionals from Poland provided free medical services to more than 600 patients, transforming our local office into temporary medical clinics.

The general practice unit offered medical consultations, ultrasound diagnostics (USG), and free medication. The dental clinic provided essential oral healthcare, including treatment, hygiene education, preventive fluoride varnish applications, and distribution of toothbrushes.

In addition to direct patient care, the mission included a first aid training session for students at Shire Primary School in Lilongwe, helping to build basic health awareness and emergency response skills among children.

This medical mission highlights the importance of accessible healthcare, preventive education, and international collaboration in improving health outcomes in underserved communities. Over 600 patients gained access to free medical and dental care they would otherwise not have been able to afford. The project also strengthened health awareness through preventive education and first aid training for children.
